Description

Organic Alfalfa Seed is a super sprouter.

Organic Alfalfa Seeds areĀ very popular with sprouting enthusiasts. Ā Once sprouted these little shoots can be sprinkled on top of any meal or used in salads. Ā They gain vitamins, minerals and protein when sprouted so it is worth taking the time to experiment with sprouting techniques.Ā  Our alfalfa is raw, organic and non GMO.

Sprouts become a whole new food from the hard little seed they begin as. Ā They are easier to digest and assimilate and are often tolerated better than the grain or legume they start as. Ā During cold seasons sprouts are a great way to keep fresh vegetables in the kitchen and they can be cooked to create warming dishes rich in nutrients.

Alfalfa becomes rich in antioxidants and chlorophyll once sprouted and becomes crunchy andĀ tasty too. Ā These tiny seeds are considered more nutritionally dense than other sprouting choices and theirĀ roots can reach up to 100ft long! Ā If you are new to sprouting try our sprouting guide – ‘How do I start Sprouting?’ for tips.

If you want to try a mix of sprouts then try our organic sprouting mix.

Family Tip:

  1. Alfalfa can be sprinkled on top of cooked meals or with a traditional seed mix in porridge but we prefer to sprout it.
  2. Our alfalfa seeds germinate well and can then be used in salads, as a garnish or even added to green smoothies for a nutritional kick.
