Description
Organic Horseradish Root Cut is in the same family as mustard, wasabi, broccoli, cabbage, and radish.
Horseradish is a perennial plant in the same family as mustard, wasabi, broccoli, cabbage, and radish. It is a root vegetable, cultivated and used worldwide as a spice and as a condiment. Our organic horseradish root cut is dried and chopped and can be used in a number of ways.
When the horseradish root is cut or grated, enzymes from within the plant cells produce mustard oil, which is the classic spice we all love.
Our horseradish is really versatile, here are some ways to use it:
- Add to sauces, dips and dressings to add a spicy kick
- Soak to rehydrate and for homemade organic horseradish
- Add to stews and casseroles. (don’t cook for too long as it loses its pungency, add at end)
Recipe
Add 2 desert spoons organic horseradish root cut to a small bowl. Add 40ml organic apple cider vinegar and 40ml water. Add salt to taste. Leave in fridge to soak. Enjoy (be careful, our horseradish packs a massive punch!)
2 desert spoons of our horseradish cut root makes a typical jar of horseradish.
