Our Raw Organic Light Golden Cane Sugar is Single Origin
We source our organic raw light golden sugar from two suppliers one in Mozambique and the other in Paraguay. Both are are very sustainable farms and fairtrade. In Mozambique cane is grown in a cooperative of over 500 small holder farmer families. For hundreds of miles around no pesticides or chemical fertilisers are used. The sugar cane is grown in one of the poorest areas in the world where the regional economy depends on agriculture.
Sugar cane absorbs a large amount of carbon so over 60% of the sugar cane is left uncultivated to protect biodiversity. All by products and waste are reused in the generation of energy, cattle nutrition and compost.
Our cane sugar is produced from fresh sugar cane to the highest organic standards. The result is light golden organic cane sugar that is perfect for teas, coffees and baking.
