Organic Maca Powder is an ancient food cultivated in the Andes, it is sometimes referred to as ‘Peruvian Ginseng’.
Maca is ideal for anyone with a busy lifestyle where work, parenting, exercise and stress all deplete the body. Maca has a rich nutrient content, including B vitamins, calcium, zinc, iron and iodine. Organic Maca Powder is a powerhouse when it comes to nutritional status and is one of the most popular maca varieties.
If Maca is new to you and you don’t know where to begin don’t be put off as it is really easy to use, try this chocolate smoothie bowl recipe to get started.
Maca roots come in a range of colours. The colour doesn’t change the look or taste of the maca powder but signifies different phytonutrients and antioxidants. Yellow maca powder is ground down from yellow, creamy coloured roots. All maca types hold unique health benefits based on their specific compounds. We also stock organic red maca and organic black maca.
Organic standards are highly controlled so  you can be sure there are no bulking agents or heating involved in the processing of the powder. You may be surprised to know that despite the different colour of the yelllow maca root at harvest, the powder is not very different in colour to the other varieties.
Our organic maca powder is raw and goes through a careful and gentle processing system to retain the optimum nutritional content of the root. It is dried naturally in the sun for 10-15 days and covered at night to avoid frost and rain.  Before it is packed it is put through rigorous testing set by the organic board in Peru.  Once in powder form it is packed in air tight bags and stored in cool dry conditions protected from light and moisture.
How to take Maca: Start with one teaspoon daily and build up to (5g).  Maca is a rich nutrient dense powder, it is advised to increase servings slowly.
