Organic vanilla pods are the 2nd most expensive spice in the world
Producing organic vanilla pods is extremely labour intensive. Shortly before the pods ripen they are harvested by hand and then fermented for up to four weeks in an airtight container.
Our organic vanilla beans are the Vanilla Planifolia (Bourbon) Grade A variety grown and harvested in organic planation’s of Madagascar. They are approximately 6” long. Grade A vanilla pods are the best quality, they are harvested just at the right time resulting in a more fragrant and moist product.
Vanilla pods have a unique, exquisite fragrance and flavour and can be used in baking , ice cream and custard and much more.

Organic Vanilla Sugar
Ingredients
Organic light golden cane sugar 400g
1 Organic vanilla pod
Method
- Simply add 400g organic light golden cane sugar to a blender
- Cut the vanilla pod all the way down the middle and then scrape the seed paste on top of the sugar
- Blend
- Stuff the empty pod into the sugar (This will give more flavour. You can then use the pod again, this is also edible)
