Description
Our organic pitted Kalamata olives are bursting with flavour
Kalamata olives are a large, dark brown olive with a smooth, meaty texture, named after the city of Kalamata in the southern Peloponnese, Greece. Our organic Kalamata olives are produced in sunny Greece by a family business that has perfected their craft since 1979.
Raw olives are very bitter due to a compound called oleuropein. Our olives are packed in brine to naturally remove this compound by breaking down the cell walls allowing for fermentation.
These olives can be eaten straight out the bag or they can be the base for your very own olive creation.
These olives come in an excellent value 5kg bag which are perfect for catering and other food ingredient businesses or people and families who love their olives!
Some people don’t like too much of a salty flavour. To reduce the salt content simply soak a portion of olives in fresh cold water for as little as 1 hour or as much as 24 hours to taste.
We also stock organic green olives
