Description

Organic Red Quinoa goes really well in salads and side dishes.

Organic Red Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) has a nutty texture and makes for vibrant salads and side dishes. It is a source of protein and iron so is a popular choice with vegans and vegetarians. It contains all the essential amino acids needed for human nutrition.

It takes a little longer to cook than organic white quinoa and holds its shape more so goes particularly well in salads or mixed grain dishes. Also, it has a slightly earthy taste, which goes very well with hearty dishes.

Quinoa is a ‘pseudo-grain’ which means that although we use it as a grain it is actually a seed. This means it is higher in nutrients and protein than most grains.

Our quinoa grains hail from Peru and are grown in the Andean Mountains where it has been a staple food for thousands of years. It works well in a wide range of sweet and savoury recipes.

You may also like to try our organic tricolor quinoa, organic black quinoa or organic white quinoa.
