Our Organic Rooibos Tea Loose Leaf is indigenous to South Africa in particular the Fynbos – the iconic shrubland habitat of the Western Cape. Often referred to as Red Bush, Rooibos grows in stony, inhospitable land and ours originates from the Cederberg Mountains. The plant has yellow flowers and needle like leaves and when harvested, the branches of the shrubs are bound in bundles and transported for further processing.
Rooibos undergoes a natural fermentation process and it is this process that results in the famous rich ruby-red brown colour characteristic of Rooibos tea. The fermented tea is spread out and dried under the African sun. This is a refreshing, naturally sweet, caffeine free infusion that’s suitable for drinking day or night, with or without milk.
Rooibos is packed with antioxidants and has many reported health benefits.
