Our Organic Shiitake Powder is a pale-brown fine powder produced from shiitake mushroom fruiting bodies, also known as Lentinus edodes. The fruiting bodies of the mushrooms are harvested, dried, granulated and then ground into a fine powder. The shiitake mushroom is native to Asia and amongst the most commonly cultivated fungi in the world and has been consumed medicinally in Asia for centuries.
Organic Shiitake Mushroom is extremely versatile. It has a full bodied, earthy flavour and is ideal to use in any savoury dish. It particularly goes really well with sauces and soups. Shiitake mushroom powder also makes a really good nutritious tea.
