Description

Organic Wheat Grain is the perfect start to the perfect loaf.

Organic Wheat Grain is a traditional bakers grain of choice. It has a rich, buttery flavour and makes reliable bakes over and over again.

To make bread from these organic wheat berries, they can be softened so they can later be ground into a floury base. We find grinding the flour from the whole grain is a great way to get the freshest flour with the fullest flavour. If you like working with ancient grains try our organic kamut or organic rye grain.

Wheat grain are sometimes known as wheat berries and can give a chewy texture and nutty taste when added as cooked grains to soups and salads. They can also be cooked and served as an alternative to rice

Family Tips

If you like getting creative in the kitchen grind the wheat grain into a flour and get baking!
To mill organic wheat grain into wholemeal flour, you can use a blender, if you don’t have a grain mill.
Place the grain into the blender and add the lid. Start the blender on a slow speed and slowly increase the speed until you reach the highest setting. Leave the blender running for about 30 seconds. The wholemeal flour is then ready to use in recipes.
If you want a whiter flour, then sieve the flour to remove some of the bran.
